Remember when you were a kid and you were told you needed to eat your broccoli? Well, if you live in Texas, you’re going to wish you had. On Tuesday, officers at the Pharr International Bridge seized nearly 800 pounds of weed hidden in a shipment of everyone’s least favorite green, leafy vegetable.
U.S Customs and Border Protection sniffed out the shipment in a tractor trailer coming from Mexico, and referred it to a secondary inspection. The case remains under investigation.
This isn’t the first time that a truckload of broccoli has been busted for carrying weed from Mexico. Back in December, another tractor carrying nearly a half a million dollars’ worth of weed was busted in Laredo thanks to a canine inspection.
Hey Mexican cartels, we know you’re taking a hit thanks to legal weed here in the U.S., but we think it’s high time you think of another way to sneak in your shipments. Broccoli is apparently just too shady.
Now, here are some pictures of people confusing broccoli and weed. Enjoy.
