Cannabis News: The UK may changes it’s cannabis policy.

Cannabis News:

While the United States is one of the leaders in the medicinal and recreational weed market, we aren’t the only country making strides toward legalization.  Currently, lawmakers in the United Kingdom may consider a bill that would legalize cannabis for recreational use.  This is due to an online petition that garnered support from more than 150,000 people regarding the production, sale, and use of cannabis.

Because the petition has more than 100,000 signatures, it requires a formal response from the government and the House of Commons must consider putting the item to debate.

James Richard Owen, creator of the petition, said, “Legalizing cannabis could bring in £900m in taxes every year.  Also, save £400m on policing cannabis and create over 10,000 new jobs”.  He went on to say that the United Kingdom is wasting money by not legalizing marijuana and that.

Cannabis is classified as a Class B drug in the United Kingdom – for now at least.
