Happy 710! The 420 of the Dab

This girl know what time to dab, 710!

For those of you who don’t know, today is a holiday!  That’s right, July 10th, or 710 is a sacred day in dabbing culture, much like 4/20.  While weed has been around for, literally, ever, dabbing is a relatively new phenomenon.  We would like to take today to celebrate all that is dabs, and drop a little knowledge on your dome so you can celebrate properly.

What are dabs?

Dabs — also known as butane hash oil, honey oil, budder, shatter, honey comb, and wax — are a concentrated extract of THC.  They oftentimes look like thick brown candle wax that spilled and hardened.  Why might people want to dab, you might ask?  Well, because they get you high as fuck.  Like, really, really high.  While normal weed may have around 20% THC on average, dabs can have up to 80-90% THC content.  Take a moment to think about that.

How are dabs made?

Making dabs is a fairly involved process, but don’t let that scare you.  There is a super specific method for extracting the concentrated THC from the marijuana plant, and if you want to try this at home, we recommend making sure you know exactly what you’re doing before you try.  Stay tuned to Stoned Girls for our upcoming exclusive video on how to make your dabs at home!

Why 7/10?

7/10 spells OIL backwards (just pretend to 7 is an L for all you literal folks).

How do you get high off dabs?

There are three main ways to get high off dabs. The first two methods use a rig, which is a water bong shaped for dabbing. First of all, the rig method utilizes either a titanium, quartz, or ceramic nail and a standard kitchen blow torch. In addition, the rig method uses an electronic nail, which heats up a rig by plugging it into an outlet. The third method is through portable vaporizers, on to which dabs are placed and an electronic, battery powered vaporizer heats up the dab. Hookah pens are one type of portable vaporizer.  You can also drizzle dab oil onto marijuana plants for an even greater high.  Also, marijuana concentrates have also been used in edibles and marijuana cooking classes.

How do I celebrate?

If you live in a state where marijuana is legal, coming across dabs isn’t that hard.  If you don’t, ask around.  They are gaining in popularity, and and odds are that someone you know will be able to procure them for you.  After that, get ready for the best high ever!
