What is a Vape Pen?
To start things off, let’s answer the most obvious question, “What is a vaporizer or a vape pen?” A vaporizer is an electronic device that generates a particular substance, in this case weed, in the form of vapor. It works by simply heating marijuana at a cooler temperature that doesn’t cause it to burn or combust.
How does a vaporizer work?
The temperature stays around 200°C or 392°F which causes the active ingredients in marijuana to boil and then release as a gas or vapor. This delivers the same effect as inhaling smoke, but in a healthier form. In other words, your lungs will want to thank you later. There are two heating methods used in vaporizers. The conduction method heats the marijuana by using direct contact to a heat source. The convention method uses hot air to heat marijuana, which actually causes more vaporization. While conduction may sounds like a better tool, it tends to not only the marijuana but the device as well.
Why is it so popular?
Vaporizers are popular for several reasons. First, their advanced technology allows the user to get as much out of his green (both herb and wallet) as possible. Second, they are much healthier for your lungs compared to smoking herb the old fashioned way. And, finally, they are much more discreet. Vape pens, for instance, can easily be smoked in public without anyone noticing. Try doing that with a joint!
