Lollapalooza is right up there with Bonaroo and Coachella in terms of badass music festivals that people who smoke weed love. With acts like Red Hot Chili Peppers, J. Cole, Future, and Flosstradamus, people will no doubt be flocking to Grant Park in Chicago to get stoned and jam out. With that being said, we wanted to impart a little knowledge on you before you head to the great Midwest. As festival experts, we know there are a few things you don’t want to do.
1. Stay hydrated
As cold as Chicago is in the winter, that’s how hot it can be in the summer. It’s important to stay hydrated, especially if you’re smoking, so you don’t get sick. Nothing will turn a good high left like cotton mouth you can’t get rid of. Outside. In the sun.
2. Pace yourself
Remember when we said there were A TON of badass acts at Lollapalooza this year? Don’t get too high too early and not be able to stay the whole day.
3. Stay close to Grant Park
Look, there is no place in this country you would rather not get lost in than the bad side of Chicago, especially if you’re stoned. Make it easy for you and try and find a place to stay near the festival. While it might be pricier than you would like, you’ll be saving on hella cab fare.
4. Don’t miss out on the food
There will be over 35 award winning chefs out at Lollapalooza, with specialties including vegan and gluten free. Make sure you satisfy your munchies. Your stoned, tired, and sun drenched self will need the extra energy.
5. Don’t get too high
Look, we’re all guilty of it at some point in time. If you’re going to get too high, make sure it’s in the comfort of your own home, not out in public with a bunch of sweaty strangers.
6. Know the law
Remember that recreational marijuana is illegal in Illinois, and they actually have some of the strictest cannabis laws in the country. Make sure you don’t get in any trouble.
