Strain Review: Super Silver Haze

Silver Haze

Super Silver Haze was the preferred strain of the mid-1990s. It is the rockstar of weed because it always hits the spot, never receiving complaints from anyone lucky enough to smoke it. This strain is considered one of the best among Haze varieties, as well as Sativas. It is no surprise that it won the Cannabis Cup two years in a row.

Nowadays, Super Silver Haze is still a favorite among those in America’s medical marijuana states as well as the cannabis shops of Amsterdam. Along with Amnesia Haze, it remains a top-shelf choice. Rumor has it, it’s what Snoop Dog smokes when he visits Amsterdam.

Below is a little information about this favorite strain.

The Basics:

Super Silver Haze is a cross between Skunk, Haze and Northern Lights #5. It is a very potent Sativa, but it has some indica qualities as well. Because of its primarily Sativa background, it is the perfect daytime smoke, but it also has just enough to keep you calm and relaxed. You’ll feel high yet grounded at the same time.

Although it is the stuff of legends, this strain is not one for newbies. It is very potent and has high THC counts of 18% to 23%. If you are new to smoking marijuana, it is easy to overdo it with this one.

The Affect:

When you experience Super Silver Haze, a variety of things may occur. You may have the overwhelming urge to dance, have sex, or an otherwise sense of euphoria.  This effect tends to last for an hour and a half to two hours.

Super Silver Haze is one toke weed, meaning if you get a good hit on the bong, or roll a single joint, you’ll probably be good for a while. For those needing a little extra focus or creativity, this strain is a perfect choice. Some even say it is the strain enjoyed by professional athletes.

The Smell:

Super Silver Haze can range from straight skunky to quite hazy. You will likely recognize this one when you smell it, as it has a strong bouquet of euphoric scents. You may get high smelling it.

This strain is a combination of Northern Lights, Haze, and Skunk which means growing it won’t be very simple. The bad news is, it takes a while to flower: 10 to 11 weeks actually.  However, it has a great yield (900 grams per meter), and is really potent, so it is worth the extra wait. These seeds are very popular because it is such a good strain.  If you can get your hands on some of these premium goodies, make sure it’s the real deal.
